missing maine, onto miami

As one student called us, fearless leaders. Photo by student Evan Allen

I've been scarce. I miss this blog. However, I've been tending to some craziness. Ever had an airline lose a bag with a lot of important stuff in it (like your passport a week before you need to leave the country)? It's been a week of phone calls, cheesy on-hold music and paperwork, paperwork, paperwork. I'm due to receive a replacement passport Friday afternoon. [Currently accepting all prayers, karma and general luck] And for all of you wondering how I could be so silly as to have a passport in my checked baggage, fair question. 1) I was traveling domestically and not paying particular attention to the whereabouts of my passport. 2) I stuck my passport in a file folder and kind of forgot about it while in Maine. Um, costly mistake. Learn from my lesson. Still waiting on my bags, Delta. Jump on it.

I depart for Ecuador and the Galápagos for another three weeks of student expeditions on Sunday. Tomorrow, I head to Miami to prepare for the trip. Again, I'm not certain how often I'll be able to update the blog while in Ecuador, if at all. I do promise to share several photos upon my return. Tonight, I'm thinking of the great experiences we had in Maine. Here are a few of my fun memories from the trip.
