28 hours and 23 minutes ago I left Vermont bound for JFK. Final destination: Lausanne, Switzerland. After a van ride, two flights, a lovely train ride and an uphill walk, I arrived. As I put my delirious self to bed, I'm still thinking about my souper suisse...rösti! Thanks to the hermanos for playing host and translator : ) What a beautiful place to call home.

today is the 60th of march

It's been more than two months since I've seen my sister's face or heard her voice. Today we video chatted for the first time since she's been in Switzerland. We had a great time speaking horrible English to each other. This morning I spent three hours speaking only Spanish. She spent her morning studying intensive French. As we reprogram our minds to think outside of English, coming back to it sometimes feel very silly, though not as silly as the mistakes we are making in our non-native languages. Just ask Kate. Today is the 60th of March, or so she told her French class. Back to the books we go!
