carry out kerosene

There are some interesting parts of Indiana just off the beaten path. The gas tank listed the price of gas as 2.22, but the yellow sign affixed to the tank reads,

"GAS
4.44 Per GAL.
2 Times 2.22 pump price
=4.44 Per GAL"

Good stuff! And I must tell you carry out cold beer and kerosene is what I've been searching for my entire life ;-)

STL to SDF

A lovely drive.

i'm back!

So my Powershot A620 died a few months back. That was the camera I primarily used for most of my blog snaps. The whole Off-the-Clock title came from the fact that I wanted these to be fun, quirky photos that I take for me, for amusement and not for the newspaper. When my point-and-shoot went down, the number of these photos I took also went down. I've been looking at cameras for months and finally decided to bite the bullet and get the G9. It came today and these are a couple of the first frames I fired in auto mode out of the box in a dark basement. Not bad. Let the experimentation begin. EG and her G9 are back! ;-)

P.S. My dog likes Macs.

panqueques

It all started in Costa Rica when a friend and I decided to make pancakes for another friend's birthday. We experimented with different flavors - banana, chocolate, cinnamon. And then the giant birthday pancake, smothered in chocolate ended up falling on the front stoop. We've become much better at the pancake thing since then. Our two latest flavors are blueberry (pretty plain, I know, but so good) and peanut butter chocolate chip. It's almost like eating a cookie for breakfast - minus all the butter. My favorite, still, is the divine combination of cinnamon and peanut butter. I looked at my friend like she was crazy as she kept throwing in ingredients, but when I tasted it, I was the one who looked crazy.

hot diggity dug

We dug and dug and dug. After lots of sand and lots of gravel and lots of tamping, I have an expanded patio. Beautiful, huh?

it's that time of year

Yum. Yum. Grilled twice this weekend. I recommend grilled mushrooms. So savory.

such a dog

When we dug up the backyard this weekend and expanded my patio [photos to folow], this dog was no help. She just wanted to chew on her frisbee and everything we dug out of the ground. Thank, Bales ;-)
