If you can believe it, this wedding reception was held in a jail. Guests delivered cards and gifts right to a jail cell. Okay, so the jail HAS been converted to a museum but, still, how cool.

Despite what I eat now, growing up I was the PB&J kid. At one of my friend's homes I was known as the girl who would only eat "kid food." This consisted of the classic sandwich, chicken nuggets or Kraft macaroni and cheese. When I saw the PB&J cupcake, it was a perfect match. Peanut butter cake, jelly filling. The frosting on top was a light and tasty whipped raspberry complimented by a hunk of peanut brittle and peanut crunches. It was a sophisticated form of the PB&J.

One morning a couple weeks ago I woke up to a neighborhood fire. Luckily, I didn't have to go into work until early afternoon that day. You'll see my car next to the fire engine with hoses running in front of and behind it. I don't believe anyone was hurt in the fire. The bad news was that it displaced eight or more people from the apartment building.

I can't imagine my home burning. I had a friend in high school whose house burned down. Everything - gone. I felt awful for him. Made me think about the what I'd lose if the same thing happened to me. What would be the most devastating?

This home has to put up with a lot of traffic. It also has to deal with being second best. Everyone who walks past this home, has their back to it. Across the street is the Frank Lloyd Wright home in Oak Park. All eyes are on Frank, but I turned my eyes to this pale blue and purple marvel and noticed the simple flowers in the window. The house spoke to me. "Look at me. I'm beautiful too." (It's also a "cool" house - note the window unit.)
