More than 20 years ago I lived in this house. The fence wasn't there, nor the tacky yard decorations. The train tracks that ran 10 feet from the house are gone. A trail sits in their place. I don't remember the big tree that's now in the front yard, but I do know that I learned to walk in front of this house. I played with a Slinky in the big back yard. I visited our neighbors and their pet turtles. I called this place home.

That's the house you lived in from age 9 months through 2 3/4. It didn't have the ugly front screen or the evergreen/cedar. THe big tree was there; it was just smaller. Trees, like children, do grow up! I fell off the front porch when I was pregnant with your brother holding you and your sister. I saved all of your lives, but my elbow was messed up for awhile and my back has never been the same. Oh, true love. Mom
Oh yes, many memories here. You DID talk your first steps in that front yard. We had a big garden along those train tracks - you and your sister would walk the rows of sweet corn. And you both sang along with the Grand Ole Opry when given the opportunity. And yes,Mom did give herself for us all in Huskerland...Love, Pop
I thought mom landed on me in that fall down the steps?!?! Perhaps my memories of Stinkin' Lincoln are skewed to some extent?
