raccoons on grand

Why are there raccoons and squirrels perched in the trees on South Grand Avenue? Anyone have any idea what statement these cardboard animals are trying to make? I'm interested.

happy turkey day

Okay, okay, so I know these are actually Cornish hens, but I thought they would make a nice Turkey Day photo ;-) I also feel very close to these hens because shortly after I took this photograph a chef taught me how to cut them into legs and breast pieces. It was an amazing experience. Then I ate them.

hunting season

Not sure if it was my dog or the dog I was watching, but someone celebrated the opening of deer hunting season. Only, they got a duck. Whoops ;-)

i love brick

Sometimes we take for granted that which surrounds us. One thing I have not yet taken for granted is the architecture and building details in St. Louis. I don't know that it's on the national map, but I am in awe every day of the small and big brick structures that line street after street. American Foursquare, Victorian, Arts and Crafts and gingerbreads all mixed up. Lovely, so lovely.

apples to apples

It brings out the crazy face in all of us.

just a few more leaves

I promise. These leaf photos will stop soon ;-) Until then, fall lives on.

halloween fun

Happy belated Halloween.

campus visit

This weekend I had the opportunity to travel to Mizzou with the students from the Minority Journalism Workshop. We had a nice tour of the campus - lots of walking and lots of Shakespeare's Pizza!
