pizza picnic

A curbside pizza picnic on the day after Thanksgiving? Oh, weather, I love you. This beats leftovers.

I thank Go! for the suggestion.

my thanksgiving

This year my friend's family took me in and filled my Thanksgiving with yummy eats and new people. Her grandpa Homer was one of my camera's favorites. And if you want the recipe for the dates, it's super simple. Slice a dried date open, fill it with the nut of your choice (in this case, walnuts) and coat it in sugar. It's a delicious, chewy and semi-healthy appetizer. Ah, thankful.

This weekend I had the opportunity to teach a four-hour, adult photography class at StudioSTL. I edited a little textured, urban essay from some of their work. Thanks for the inspiration and invigoration to all of you!

misty green morning

The warmth from inside Rooster creates a beautiful fog on the windows when it rains or it's cold outside. Makes you want to order another cup of something hot, turn the pages of your book and stay awhile.

pondering parking

The meter on the street or the spot in the garage? What choices we have in life. Pay a lot up front to ensure there will be no ticket later or throw in a few dimes and nickels and hope the meter maids, matrons and lads aren't on the prowl. Put a roof over our cars' heads or leave them out in the open, exposed to the elements? For me, depends on the day, location and how much change is in my pockets.

bubble bus

The amount of bubbles was magical.

She's one of a kind...and now she belongs to us! Don't worry, India, we'll let her visit on her U.S. passport : )

broadway bean

Friday's discovery. Check this place out. The couple who manages it rocks. He's a photographer, she's an artist. You can find their work all over the walls. She also hand paints glass mugs. If you know a coffee or tea lover, it might make a great holiday gift. I love starting the day with coffee, tea and beauty.

substitute for color?

Early last week I took my Bale for a walk. The fall color was stunning. The reds blazed, the yellows shined and the hues in between taunted the eye. Unfortunately, I was walking sans camera. On Friday's walk, I remembered the camera, but after all the torrential rain, most of the colors had faded to brown. Most of the leaves sat in wet clumps in gutters or floated in puddles...sigh...I still managed to make a few pics.

chai

Ah, yes, chai the way it should be. The flavor took my mind back to Africa. And, lucky for me, the chapati is in the fridge for later : )
