fightin' platypi

Yes, the Fightin' Platypi play volleyball. And did you know that platypi have venomous spikes? Really! On the court and in the land of marsupials.

sweet dough, hot beans

Great breakfast. Fresh, fresh spinach, juicy tomatoes and eggs that taste too good to be eggs. Even better was the sweet pup that dined here. She had no teeth. Her tongue hung out of her mouth, but not because she was tired or thirsty. She didn't have a choice. Her tongue always hangs like this. Maybe she was made this way. She drank from the little green bowl under the spout. (I wondered how she drank.) Other canines shared the bowl. A prime place to share your water.

What is this?

missing my camera

Things I wish I would have photographed last week:

- The teenage boy and his father playing football in the middle of Hartford Street in the rain.
- The girls jumping rope on Arsenal with the longest rope I have ever seen. One end was tied to a street sign. The rope was literally 40 feet long, easy.
- The folks in front of the Body of Christ Temple dribbling the kickball.
- The woman putting braids in a girl's hair in a small, downtown park.

a first attempt

So I'm tardy with these, but I got to shoot the Frozen Four with folks from the Grand Forks Herald. They are great photographers, great folks. Being at the Frozen Four was a neat opportunity, despite my team losing in the first game. It was my first time shooting hockey.

yes, still here

I apologize for my scarcity. My camera is going down hill - it only turns on about half the time. And it's had dead batteries for a week. I'll get that remedied soon, I hope. Thanks for your patience.

In the meantime, for you St. Louis folk, what comes to mind when you hear about the area near the intersection of Virginia Avenue and Meramec?
