pondering

Would the world be a better place without mirrors?

a baby for christmas

It amazes me how kids know how to care for other kids (or dolls in this case).

tilles lights

'Twas Christmas night when we saw the light. I wish the blue water in the photo would appear the way it did to my eye. It flickered and flared and looked like a moving stream. It made me look twice, then thrice. At the end, I paid for the delight. "Merry Christmas," the trio of men said. They were three Jewish men, there to say Merry Christmas.

wine down

Coolest discovery from holiday parties this year: The wine down.

let it snow

Like the butter, the snow was here one minute, gone the next. I love walking in the snow. It crunches and pops and melts all at once. Unfortunately, I don't fully appreciate the snow in Missouri until it's melted away. In Nodak (North Dakota) I didn't seem to have this problem ...

blue butter

She likes butter. In fact, she ate a whole stick and probably would have ate more if the option had presented itself. The butter was there one minute. Gone the next.

love. peace. joy.

My holiday wishes for all. The world is "crying" for peace.

tree transformation

It started off as an eyesore in one of my coworkers front yards. With some shears and a $20 Target trip, it became my first Christmas tree.

fun visit

Four friends I studied with in Costa Rica visited a couple weeks ago. We cooked. (I recommend peanut butter cinnamon pancakes.) We talked. We argued. We went to the top of the Arch. Now we miss each other.

miss you guys

After six weeks of intense journalism learning, I miss this group of students. They were really incredible. I hope I taught them half as much as they taught me.
